INDIAN PALMISTRY RESOURCES ---- Uncloned World.

FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS INDIANS HAVE BEEN PALMREADING IN ORDER TO DISCERN THE FUTURE. There is considerable evidence to suggest that palmistry in fact had its birth in India about 3000 years ago, before spreading to other parts of the world such as Egypt and Europe. Palmistry is the science of palm-reading with the objective of studying one’s character and inherent nature, discovering his true potential and making future predictions about the person. According to Astroshastra.com, "the purpose of Palmistry to teach you how to conquer the ancient art of divination by means of stated rules and not by intuition." Since one's palm is a gift of nature no errors can be ascribed to the lines contained thereupon, which have been there since birth. Malaysian Tamil author Brahmasri Gailasasaamy has written, in his book Head Itself A Temple: "Horoscope, numerology, physiogonomy and palmistry helps to predict a man's future. It is said that God resides in the heart of everybody. The size of God inside our heart is measured as the size of our thumb. In Sanskrit it is called "Angusta".

IndiaNetZone reports: "The art of analyzing the palm as a blue print of person`s past, present, future, karmas, personality and life issues originated in the ancient mystique land of India.

"Our hands are the constant recipients of the continuous flow of electrical impulses from the brain. In fact the coordination between the conscious and Sub conscious mind with that of the hands is almost miraculous. The nerve endings and energy flow in the palm is responsible for etching out the presence of lines and mounts on them.

"Studying these lines and other signs to know the details about a person comes under the practice of palmistry. Every sign in the palm tells something or the other about that person. Since the free will of the person is the most important cosmic force of all, palm lines and signs are changeable through the changing circumstances in our life.

"Usually the hands are recognised as passive and active hand.

"A right-handed person has right active hand, and a left-handed person has the left active hand. The other hand is known as passive hand. It is considered that the passive hand is the one we are born with. It conveys the inherent traits of the person. The active hand is more susceptible to our conscious efforts. Hence it is known as the hand determined by us.

"Active hand is most important consideration while Studying palmistry, with the side consideration of passive hand as well.

"Vedic palmistry also suggests the passive hand to be the hand from our past life (karmic imprint).

"A remarkable difference between the two palms suggests that the person has either progressed or degraded (as per the palm readings) in his life. No significant change suggests that the person has done no conscious efforts in his life. He/ she has just followed his/ her inherent luck.

"A comparative study of both the hands should be done to get more insight in the matter.

"There are different forms of palm reading. Technically they are divided as:

Dermatoglyphics:

A study of skin ridge patterns and formations found on the fingertips and within the palms themselves. Much research is being conducted continuosly with regard to how certain patterns may be indicative of genetic problems.

Chiromancy:

This is the stream in which the in-depth study of lines is done.

Chirognomy:

A study of genetic hand shape, finger shape, fingernails, texture, consistency, gesture, etc. Used by hand analysts in order to gain insight into aspects of the inner workings of the personality.

Chirology or Cheirology is the combination of all these branches.

The Indian palmistry divides the entire existence of human being in three sections:

Conscious or physical being (Tamas)

Lifeline define the way we live our life.

Subconscious or mental being (Rajas)

Headline and other minor lines depicts the way we think.

Super conscious or soul (Sattwa)

Heart line and Mounts are studied to gain insight on the love and depth of a person.

Although, palmistry is being studied in a more scientific fashion in west or Europe, the original Samudrik Hasta Rekha embodies Vedic philosophy within itself in coalition with all the cosmic forces available.

A popular school in the south of India is Sariraka Shastra based on the writings of Kartikeya. This system is also known as skanda system.

Followers of sariraka sastra claim that this system is the oldest and most authentic, and that samudrika sastra has been diluted and simplified from the original teachings. Up to 153 lines are recognised and studied well in the palm. A more spiritual insight in the readings is done by defining and studying the "Atma rekha."

Major Uses of Palm Reading ---- Indian palmist Vinay Aditya lists seven uses for palm-reading:
1. To understand the basic character and aptitude of the self and the others. Thus one can work towards removing one’s character-flaws. The hand would indicate if a certain flaw has been overcome.
2. To offer career-counselling by understanding one’s nature, temperament and aptitudes.
3. The same knowledge can be used to reduce costly recruitment errors.
4. Pre-warning for imminent diseases or pre-disposition to certain diseases. Visit K.Murali Rao's site to see how your hands reveal your medical condition.
5. Psychotherapy.
6. Predicting success in business or profession, extent and timing of it.
7. Compatibility, especially in marriage.

The Regions of the Hand ---- The aforementioned Malaysian author Gailasasaamy has written: "Generally from birth till the age of five the lines of the palm undergo frequent change. From the age of six, no big changes take place in the lines. But, the planetary position in astrology do not undergo any change. Some of the important features to be studied include:
1. Nails.
2. Hand.
3. Thumb.
4. Planetary mounts.
5. Lines on the palm such as Heart Line, Lifeline, Fate Line, Grace Line, lines denoting children, lines denoting intellect, Mercury Line." In more modern times, palm readers also looking at the knuckles, the back of the hand and even the dermal patterns such as the fingerprints. It is an open field, and everyone is invited to contribute to it, provided you have the skills!

Personal Experiences With Palm Reading ---- South-East Asia is of course one of the centers of palm-reading in the world, in part due to the large ethnic Indian population there. I had my first brush with Indian palm reading on the streets of Little India, Singapore, in 2001. The palmist promised me two wives in the future! Only time will tell if he was correct or not! Palm reading emporium, Bangkok, Thailand Palm reading is also popular in Thailand, and in Bangkok you can find huge emporiums devoted to the mass discernment of futures! If you ever travel through South-East Asia, you ought to take advantage of these services -- it sure is cheap!
Susmita Saha at LifePositive has written of the allure of palmistry in today's world: "On a recent visit to the campus of Delhi University, I saw a small conglomeration of students intensely poring over something. The crowd was so dense that it was difficult to see the object of their interest. I ventured into the gathering and found a bespectacled youngster sitting with a magnifying glass and speculating on the future of his peers by reading their palms.
"The lure and addictive nature of palmistry was a revelation in itself. Ever wondered why your fate follows a predestined path? Or something you had carefully contemplated for a long time falls apart just because it did not lie in the Supreme Being's scheme of things."

Let's Break It Down ---- Well, here we want to understand our fate completely, and discern the Supreme Scheme of Things. As in western palmistry, the lines and markings on the palms can be interpreted according to strict (scientific?) rules. "Each of our fingers and mounds has an astrological correspondence," claims Astroshastra.com. "Did you know that the size of your Saturn finger can tell a lot about how you handle responsiblity? That you can decide whether someone is giving you an honest deal by looking at the areas of the hand ruled by Mercury?" Furthermore, did you know that white spots under your nails signify blood circulation problems. I used to have white spots under my nails, but they have disappeared ever since I started using Ginseng and other blood circulation boosters. Your hands can tell you everything! So, let's get ready to start exloring our hands, to see what they will tell us!
Let's break it down and study all the various aspects of the palm one by one, and explain what they mean according to Indian wisdom.
