Australia - BeachSide [December 2002]
The Australian coast is a photographer's delight due to its endless golden beaches, ancient low headlands covered with scraggy bush, burning blue ozone-depleted skies, coral reefs, incredible bird life, and the even more incredible absence of human habitation. These photos were taken on the NSW Central Coast, some 100km north of Sydney, near The Entrance. A haunt of surfers and weathered old fishermen, glorious in its isolation, its elemental play of wind and wave and eroded stone. Inland are located such natural wonders as Queensland's Carnavon Gorge, which is featured extensively on this website.
