The sleeping masses might be compared to the Real, the sheep who blindly follow the rules, while the "woke" fanatic corresponds to the Imaginary, frantically trying to awaken the said sheep, or at least guide them towards salvation. You might call this intermediate kind the Shepherd. The third and final filter is that of the Symbolic, and the archetype of the Wolf. Why labor so long to guide and rouse the sheep when you can prey upon them at will?
