Decentraland

THE CONCEPT OF VIRTUAL REAL ESTATE MAY SEEM COUNTERINTUITIVE TO SOME. Unlike real land, online properties can be minted with a few lines of code, and deleted just as quickly. Nonetheless, some spaces are more popular than others... and that is where their value lies. A valuable realm is therefore like a valuable website, measured by the number of visitors, and the depth of their engagement. There might be more than a million games on Roblox, but most of them sit deserted for most of the time. Even if you could, it would not be wise to build your virtual art gallery or mausoleum there.

It is the level of community which determines the value of simulated worlds, in my opinion. Whether they are set up for gaming, like Minecraft, or community as on Second Life, they all have a community at the heart. ...

Metajuku Mall: 94,21.
Japanese influences abound in Decentraland, from the torii and numerous cherry blossoms to the names of properties. Inspired by Harajuku, the center of Tokyo street fashion, Metajuku was designed by Republic Realm. The day of my visit in February there were a few avatars there as well as a pacing tiger, but it was nowhere as crowded as Takeshita Dori. Instead of real clothes, the boutiques here sell digital garments. Signs on the walls proclaimed omise (shop) and karaoke.
